Hello! I'm Ash Tran, a graphic designer and illustrator proudly from Lowell, Massachusetts that loves building brands through story-telling, creative problem solving, and user-centered design thinking–in more simple terms, I enjoy helping people with art, design, and communications.
I find inspiration through uplifting passionate teams, neighbors, and making others visions and dreams a reality.
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from The University of Massachusetts Lowell, where I was the recipient of the 2025 Senior Studio Excellence Award, the highest honor for graduating designers. Before attending UML, I studied for my Associate’s degree in Studio Art from The Middlesex Community College.
I’m proud to serve on the Design & Visual Communications advisory board at Greater Lowell Technical High School, staying connected to the place where my passion for creative storytelling first sparked.
In Spring & Summer of 2025, I wrapped up two Graphic Design internships with the twin-owned A Good Pear Design Studios working on social media, digital graphics, and custom illustration. Jenna and Kelly are seasoned designers and were amazing mentors that showed me the intimate flows of a design studio.
I am currently working as an in-house designer at J.C. Cannistraro, a family owned mechanical construction firm based in the Greater Boston area with Global reach. I've been in their co-op program since Jan '26, continuously expanding my knowledge of the AEC industry and how design integrates with marketing and communications.
When I'm not designing, I'm hanging with the dogs and my partner, or sipping on a good cup of coffee in the kitchen.
